Beyond the Shadows: A Poem About Anxiety and Resilience
Share
A Poem inspired by my essay: "Conquering Anxiety: Strategies, Insights, and Support for a Calmer Life"
1.) Your anxiety is a country you've lived in
for so long, you've forgotten the borders
of your own skin, the taste of your own tongue
the sound of your own voice, whispering 'you are enough'
It's a place where fear and doubt are the currency
where worry is the language, and anxiety is the queen
she rules with an iron fist, a heavy crown
a constant reminder that you are never safe
But you are strong, you are brave, you are a warrior
a heart that beats, a soul that thrives
you've survived the wars, the battles, the storms
you've risen from the ashes, like a phoenix from the flames
Your anxiety tries to tell you otherwise
that you are weak, that you are broken, that you are not enough
but you know the truth, you know your worth
you know that you are a universe, a world, a star
You've been through the fire and emerged from the flames
you've been broken, but you've been remade
you've been shattered, but you've been reshaped
you've been lost, but you've been found
Your anxiety is a shadow that follows you
a reminder of the darkness, but also the light
it's a reminder that you are still alive
that you are still fighting, that you are still strong.
