A food essay about the Snake River Grill in Jackson, Wyoming by James Bonner

Discover Culinary Excellence at Snake River Grill: Fine Dining in Jackson, Wyoming's Hidden Gem

Only steps from the famed square in downtown Jackson, Wyoming, where the majestic peaks of the Teton Mountain Range cast their imposing shadows upon the landscape, there is a hidden bastion of gastronomic innovation, Snake River Grill. Stepping into Snake River Grill, the feel of the simple log cabin with awful blue patterned motel carpeting captures the rugged splendor of the American West.

The menu is a tome of culinary mastery and showcases an eclectic fusion of flavors inspired by the taste of global cuisines. To begin, the Foie Gras Torchon: banana bread, rum, cocoa nib, and pecan, delicious in its own right, also ignites your imagination of what’s to come. And what’s to come? The Roasted Moulard Duck Breast: saffron, Earl Grey, and butternut squash. I often opt to pass on dessert, it’s a personal thing don’t judge me, but when Tiramisu is on the menu, especially a Tiramisu Cream Puff, w/ mascarpone mousse, espresso cream, and a chocolate crémeux (the menu at Snake River Grill takes a few spelling liberties).

Jackson, Wyoming’s interpretation of comfortable fine dining, your experience at Snake River Grill is almost strictly flavor, unmistakable, and impressive. You may even see Harrison Ford at a corner table in the shadows, which is perfect because Snake River Grill comes across to me as the culinary equivalent of the notorious actor. An evening at Snake River in Jackson, Wyoming is an absolute must-try and a lasting experience.
