Cibolo Creek Brewing Company: A Hub of Craft Beer, Community, and Texas Hospitality in Boerne

On Main Street, a short walk from Cibolo Creek, Cibolo Creek Brewing Company in Boerne, Texas, is a vibrant and welcoming microbrewery that has become a beloved hub for locals and visitors seeking craft beer and Southern hospitality; with a commitment to quality, community, and a unique Texan flair, this brewery is a remarkable spot worth exploring.

Cibolo Creek Brewing Company, and Ty, the lead brewer in particular, take the art of brewing seriously. The brewery's team of passionate brewmasters is dedicated to crafting a diverse study of artisanal beers that cater to a wide range of palates. Whether you're a fan of hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or crisp lagers, you'll find something to awaken your taste buds. One of the brewery's standout features is its ever-rotating selection of brews. They continuously experiment with different recipes and seasonal ingredients, ensuring every visit is as incredible and unique as the last. This dedication to innovation keeps customers returning—and many, daily—to see what's new on tap.

Cibolo Creek Brewing Company's inviting atmosphere is one of its defining qualities. Located in a renovated historic building in the heart of Boerne, Texas, the brewery combines old-world charm with a modern, rustic aesthetic. The spacious, open-air beer garden is a favorite spot for patrons to unwind and soak in the beautiful Texas weather while enjoying a refreshing brew; whether swinging in a swing on the brewery’s front porch, perched at one of the richly wooden interior tables or carpentered bar or sitting among the family-friendly open seating out in the back of the restaurant.

The first time I stepped into CCB looking for something to eat, I was blown away. In addition to their exceptional beer offerings, Cibolo Creek Brewing Company provides a delicious menu that pairs perfectly with their brews. From hearty burgers and flavorful sandwiches to fresh salads and delightful appetizers, the brewery's kitchen is equally committed to quality and innovation. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, ensuring there's something for everyone. It’s inaccurate to describe the food as, “delicious,” “hearty,” and “flavorful.” The ingredients are locally sourced, with most of the meats coming from the head brewmaster's home farm, Windy Hill Foods, everything on the menu is healthy and beautifully arranged.

Some of my favorites are the CCB Goat Burger, Mom’s Chicken Salad Sliders, and the Bier Buns (a “delicious” potato roll filled with browned goat, cabbage, and cheese, with the option to add a fried egg). I haven’t had the opportunity to eat at Cibolo Creek Brewing Company in a few years, and just thinking about the food now makes me wish that I could park on a stool at the bar, order whatever dark beer they have available and sample at least one, but probably each of my three favorites.

CCB isn’t merely a destination for beer enthusiasts; it's also family-friendly. The microbrewery welcomes visitors of all ages and even offers a dedicated play area for children, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. And for those who can't bear to leave their four-legged friends at home, the brewery is also pet-friendly. The outdoor beer garden is an ideal setting for patrons to bring their dogs, ensuring that the entire family can enjoy a day out at Cibolo Creek Brewing Company. Live music is a regular feature at the microbrewery, adding to the overall ambiance.

The last time I was there listening to music, Kevin Galloway, the lead singer of the Austin-based band, Uncle Lucius, known nationwide for their song, “Keep the Wolves Away,” was performing. Good friends with one of the restaurant's owners, Galloway is a familiar face at CCB. It's common to find talented local musicians strumming their guitars or belting out tunes, creating a convivial atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. Cibolo Creek Brewing Company regularly hosts events and specials to keep the experience exciting. From themed parties and trivia nights to special beer releases, there's always something happening at the brewery. Check their event calendar for updates on what's coming up next.

One of the brewery's most notable attributes is its strong connection to the community of Boerne, Texas; founded and operated by longtime Boerne residents, the Cibolo Creek Brewing Company is not just a place to enjoy great beer, it's a hub for social gatherings, community events, and a sense of belonging. Cibolo Creek Brewing Company frequently hosts fundraisers, charity events, and other events that benefit local causes. CCB has also collaborated with local businesses resulting in the craft creations of Hoppy Coffee Saison, after their alliance with local coffeehouse, Electric Coffee. This commitment to giving back to the community has made Cibolo Creek Brewing Company an integral part of Boerne.
